Indian Union Minister Jayant Chaudhary has publicly disclosed ₹43.7 lakh (approximately $52,000 USD) in cryptocurrency holdings, marking a notable moment in the intersection of politics and digital finance. The declaration, made as part of his annual asset report, includes investments in Bitcoin, Ethereum, and several stablecoins held jointly with his spouse.

This is the second consecutive year Chaudhary has listed crypto assets in his financial disclosures, reflecting both personal conviction and a broader shift in political attitudes toward digital currencies. His holdings have grown nearly 20% year-over-year, suggesting active portfolio management and confidence in the sector’s long-term viability.

The announcement has sparked renewed debate in India’s parliament, where lawmakers remain divided on how to approach crypto regulation.
